FEATURED GRANTS

The Change Happens Foundation (CHF) awards grants to forward-thinking non-profits enganged in worthwhile projects in science & medicine, education, arts & culture, community services, and the environment. These represent an example of the projects we proudly support:
 Innovations Public Charter School

Located on the Big Island of Hawaii, Innovations Public Charter School (IPCS) is the first and only elementary charter school in Kailua-Kona. Offering a free, non-traditional public education in a small school environment, IPCS is best known for its multi-age groupings, inquiry and project-based focus, abundant technology, student centered learning, parent participation, and its caring and experienced staff.

During the school's grand opening celebration, CHF awarded IPCS a generous grant to aid in the construction of their new campus. We applaud IPCS for providing elementary students a creative approach to education that develops academic excellence and creative self-expression.

 Hualalai Academy

Hualalai Academy was awarded a restricted capital grant to help build a new High School building. The mission of Hualalai Academy is to prepare students for a future of cultural, environmental, and technological changes and to promote mutual respect, individual development, and a lifelong love of learning. Construction of new classroom buildings will help them continue to provide an enriched curriculum in a nurturing and supportive environment for many years to come.

 Resonance Project Foundation
Nassim Haramein

Nassim Haramein, a gifted physicist with the Resonance Project Foundation, is working on a hyperdimensional theory of everything he calls the Holofractographic Universe. Among other ideas, Nassim believes he has solved the solution set to the Unified Field Theory through an amendment to Einstein’s field equations which the great physicist himself was attempting to complete at the end of his life. Nassim will soon publish his theories via science journals, DVD, the project web site, and a book for the layman entitled "Crossing the Event Horizon."

 Kona Hospital Foundation

The Kona Hospital Foundation was established in 1984 for the purpose of providing means, equipment and facilities for the use by and benefit of the Kona Community Hospital. Since its inception it has provided over a million dollars in equipment and facilities to the Kona Community Hospital. The Kona Hospital Foundation was endowed with a CHF grant to help the hospital build a Chemo Therapy Treatment Clinic and a very modern CT scan imaging center. Providing radiation therapy to cancer patients will fill a tremendous medical and humanitarian need in the West Hawaii community.

 Tropical Reforestation and Ecosystems Education

CHF proudly supports Tropical Reforestation & Ecosystems Education (TREE) Hawaii, an organization actively engaging children and adults in learning about the value of our native forests by participating in hands on educational activities and assisting with native habitat restoration.

Based on Hawai'i Island, they strive every day to reinforce commitment and responsibility of people to their community, land, and environment. Forging connections between people and forests with ongoing restoration and education programs, TREE is dedicated to the conservation of and education about native Hawaiian ecosystems.

 Lake City Library

CHF gave generous support to Lake City, Iowa to help build a public library. Our President and CEO, Douglas Troxel, went to his home town to dedicate the library on April 6, 2003. The new Lake City Library was dedicated to the legacy of Mr. Troxel's mother, Helen Kibby Troxel.

The new Lake City Library has a very modern heating and cooling system utilizing the stability of the earth's temperature. A coolant liquid is pumped through underground pipes which keeps the library's air at a constant fifty degrees. The utility costs are very minimal with their highly renewable and eco-friendly system.

 Seven Tepees Youth Program

CHF is proud to support the Seven Tepees Youth Program, an organization dedicated to impacting the lives of promising inner-city youth. Their mission is to work with urban youth to foster the skills they need to make lifelong positive choices and to create their own opportunities for success. Youth are encouraged in social competency, academic skills, healthy self-esteem, exposure to new options, and increased understanding and appreciation of their natural environment. Seven Tepees has received local and national recognition as an innovative youth program and serves as a model to other youth service organizations.

 Holualoa Elementary School

The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) of Holualoa Elementary School was awarded a grant to purchase new textbooks, library books, and to aid with school operating expenses. CHF offered the Holualoa PTO two grant alternatives. The first option, which they selected, provided a fixed amount of funding. The second option, a matching funds grant, may have garnered a greater donation from CHF if the PTO could raise matching funds through their own fundraising efforts to increase donations from the community. With funding for public schools drastically reduced by the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) educational law, we at CHF are pleased to support Holualoa Elementary School and help its students reach their full potential by receiving the education they deserve.
